The Opportunity

We are currently recruiting for a Programme Leader in Sports Law to join us at our iconic Etihad campus to manage a programme of study and to maintain academic standards so that it realises its potential and delivers excellence of academic activity, within the context of the operation and strategic development of UCFB.

About You

The successful candidate will be degree and masters educated in disciplines relevant to Sports Law and have teaching experience in a Higher Education Institution, as well as relevant leadership responsibility.

They will have the ability to teach a range of specialist modules/ topics on the programme, including Introduction to Sports Law, The Regulation of Safety and Deviance in Sport, Legal Issues in the Governance of Sport, Employment Law and Sport and Regulating the Business of Sport.

Key Tasks

  • Providing effective management of a specified programme, including consultation, decision-making and communication with Head of Academics/ a specified Assistant Head of Academics, module leaders, academic administration, staff and students within the current framework of UCFB
  • Ensuring high standards of student experience through effective programme management
  • Maintaining high academic standards and adherence to the programme and module specifications
  • Leading the design and delivery of teaching materials for the specified programme and modules, including the curriculum review and enhancement, in a manner that supports and focuses on student learning outcomes
  • Lead the setting, marking and verification of student assessments and examination activities on the programme, including the provision of appropriate feedback to students to meet internal and external expectations
  • Engage in continuous professional development
  • To participate in the department seminars aimed at knowledge sharing and building interdisciplinary collaboration within and outside the department
  • Have overall responsibility for the pastoral care of students enrolled within the programme
  • Achieve key academic performance indicators, attendance, retention and achievement
  • Report to the Head of Academics/Assistant Head of Academics on programme performance and progress

Additional information:

Working hours: Working hours normally 8.30 am - 5pm but may involve additional and unsocial working hours depending on the nature of the event and occasional travel between campus.
