The Opportunity

We are currently recruiting for a Registrar to join us at our iconic Manchester campus. They will be responsible for supporting registrar activities, to deliver programmes within the academic infrastructure and to promote UCFB’s commitment to quality improvement.

About You

The successful candidate will be degree educated and have minimum of 2 years’ relevant experience within a Higher Education Institution. They will also have working knowledge of the QAA UK Quality Code, Higher Education working practices, and quality systems.

Key Tasks

  • To provide appropriate and effective registry support for academic programmes and quality assurance processes, in liaison with appropriate academic staff, professional service colleagues and collaborative partners, as required
  • To take responsibility for the production of Programme Handbooks and other student information related material, as required;
  • To take responsibility for liaising with external examiners for programmes, overseeing the dispatch of assessments and samples of work to the external examiners (keeping tracking records as appropriate), facilitating visits and making arrangements for external examiner attendance at Examination Boards. Facilitate communication between external examiners and academic colleagues
  • To assist in maintaining accurate and up to date student records and providing accurate key information statistics
  • To advise students and staff on policies and processes, for example, mitigating circumstances, complaints, appeals, etc
  • To liaise with colleagues, students, collaborative partners, external agencies, industry representatives and professional bodies, as required, e.g. assisting with QAA reviews and monitoring visits
  • To liaise with UCFB staff regarding the internal examination boards and university partner staff regarding the Bucks’ examination boards
  • To assist with the management of complaints, academic offences, appeals and fitness to practice, as appropriate, and in liaison with relevant colleagues
  • Where necessary, co-ordinate and maintain all professional records in accordance with regulatory requirements to ensure that all students, on successful completion of professional programmes, are able to register with the appropriate Professional Body if required to do so
  • To undertake appropriate staff development and professional training in line with the business objectives of UCFB

Additional information

Working hours: Working hours normally 8.30 am - 5pm but may involve occasional travel between any of the UCFB premises
