This partnership will not only enable our youth teams to gain further education and knowledge from trained students, but also allow UCFB students to gain real work experience. This is an exciting time for the club with the academy expansions, and we look forward to seeing how this partnership progresses.

Paul McGuireYouth Development Manager at Macclesfield Town

In December 2018 UCFB announced a partnership with League Two side Macclesfield Town that will see students help run two new academies for the club.

The partnership gives students the opportunity to experience the demands of working in a professional football academy by working alongside the club’s departments, including the coaching and media teams, at their two new academies in Macclesfield and Manchester.

The academies will help the Silkmen increase their reach in the search for new young talent, as well as enable UCFB students to bolster their CV and gain vital work experience before they graduate.

I’d like to thank Macclesfield Town for giving UCFB students this chance. This partnership gives our students even more opportunities to get out into the working environment of the football industry. The chance to coach tomorrow’s talent and create engaging media content for a professional football club is one students shouldn’t miss, so I urge them to get involved.
