Lecturer in Sports Broadcasting

Chris has come to Higher Education after a career in sports broadcasting, which he continues in parallel with his teaching commitments. His career has taken him from Plymouth Sound to Sky Sports, via Pennine Radio, The Pulse, Yorkshire Television, talkSPORT, Century Radio, Real Radio and Sky Sports News Radio. He ignores the adage “never go back” as he’s been at The Pulse and Century/Real Radio three times each! When UCFB commitments allow, he’s heard regularly on Sky Sports Soccer Saturday and BBC Radio Humberside.

His career highlights are commentating for talkSPORT on the 2005 Champions League final in Athens and the 2006 World Cup in Germany as well as leading the IRN national news bulletins through the night reporting from the scene of the Bradford riots.

Before joining UCFB in 2017 Chris had spent some time teaching at (what is now called) Leeds Trinity University.

Away from work he is an ardent Plymouth Argyle fan and award winning allotmenteer
