Lecturer in Sports Business and Sports Broadcasting

With two decades of newsroom and sports broadcasting experience, Guy’s professional resumé is a Who’s Who of the industry and includes the likes of ITV News, Al Jazeera English, Sky Sports News and Eurosport.

Since starting his broadcasting career at BBC Radio Newcastle, Guy has gone on to commentate, present and report from many of the world’s biggest sporting events — such as the Olympic and Paralympic Games, Cricket World Cups and all four Grand Slam Tennis tournaments.

Thanks to his elite level industry experience and wide network of client contacts, Guy also has an in depth knowledge of sports business from a broadcasting perspective and how the various stakeholders involved operate in a constantly evolving broadcast rights and media landscape.

Before joining UCFB, Guy taught for three years across the core areas of the MSc in Sport Broadcast programme at Cardiff Metropolitan University. During this time, he completed his Postgraduate Certificate in Higher Education at Kingston University London. Guy has also worked in delivering media training for clients, including the International Tennis Federation.

Now alongside his teaching role at UCFB, Guy continues to work professionally in sports broadcasting, bringing his first class industry practice and contacts book back into the classroom for the benefit of his students.
