Lecturer in BA (Hons) Multimedia Sports Journalism

Lucia has a master’s degree in Public Relations and Strategic Communication from the University Pompeu Fabra in Barcelona. She began working as a lecturer in higher education not long after receiving her degree, and has since gained significant experience teaching at levels 3-6 FHEQ in courses connected to social media, digital marketing, mass communications, and public relations.

Lucia's research and teaching passions revolve around power dynamics in social and digital media, visual communication, propaganda, and strategic communication. She is pursuing a PhD at Nottingham Trent University, focusing on the role of visual communication and propaganda during times of crises.

Lucia is very passionate about teaching, thoroughly enjoys working with students, passing onto them her knowledge, providing academic as well as mentoring support, and striving to be an inspiration in the process of their development and their journey towards their dream career. Her teaching philosophy is to provoke and stimulate students’ interest and curiosity which will further motivate them to learn and develop. She appreciates that the role of a teacher in higher education is to mainly guide students towards the education process and facilitate their learning, placing emphasis on students’ independent learning and engagement. She has obtained a PGCHE course (postgraduate certificate in higher education) which continually inspires her to innovate and reinvent my teaching methods to provide students with an exceptional learning experience.
