Lecturer in BA (Hons) Multimedia Sports Journalism.

Mark has been a sports journalist for more than 30 years and has worked on a number of weekly, regional daily and national daily newspapers as well as digital platforms.

He was Sports Editor of Metro for five years, transforming it from its template beginnings to a sports section in its own right with global sportsmen and women columnists. He also helped launch Metro Dublin. Mark switched to digital in 2006 and as Head of Sports Content established Daily Mail Online as the biggest and most successful newspaper website in the world during his five-year spell there.

Latterly, as Sports Editor of Yahoo UK Sport, Mark created and appeared in a video series called ‘Voices of Sport’, wrote a nightly TV show in Paris during Euro 2016 and appeared alongside famous footballers and presenters, produced a boxing podcast written by boxing commentator Steve Bunce and presented Yahoo Sport’s Facebook Live morning football show.

This year Mark also produced the official Cricket World Cup guide for the ICC and the official Ashes guide for the ECB while working for ProgrammeMaster.
