UCFB has and will continue to champion female success in sport for our students and alumni, who now work at some of the biggest names in sport, with the help of our inspirational staff and partners.

Many dreams, one institution

Here at UCFB we empower, encourage and celebrate women for their outstanding achievements. We see an athlete, a businessperson, an entrepreneur in each of our students regardless of their gender, ethnicity or religion. If you are good at what you do and have the determination to follow your dream, UCFB is the right place to be and our current students and alumni serve as the best proof for this.

It is a privilege to be in a position to meet so many female students with such potential. I have the opportunity to inspire them to achieve more and increase their confidence so they can step outside of their comfort zone and conquer any challenges they may face.

Breaking the glass ceiling for women in sport

For International Women's Day 2019 UCFB spoke to some of the highest profile women working in the football and sports industry, to find out what challenges they have faced trying to break in and work at the top level of a male-dominated industry.

One thing that should be acknowledged is that the issue of inequality has nothing to do with women’s skillsets, talents or personalities, it’s all about perceptions we were all prewired with. If females can be brave enough to challenge these perceptions, they will be able to own the future of sport one day.

The multi-billion-pound and growing industry of women’s football and sport

I believe as men and women, instead of ignoring our differences, we need to accept and transcend them. This reflects the UCFB environment which provides a positive, inspirational platform for females and males to carve out the careers they want in the football and sports industry.

I am pleased to have witnessed, first-hand, employers who are keen to diversify their workforce and recognise that women have the talent and skillset required to do the job just as well as their male counterparts.

UCFB Women’s Society

As the female numbers at both campuses of UCFB are growing, so is the need for the UCFB’s young inspirational ladies to have a safe space where they can socialise, communicate freely and address any issues related to gender inequality.

Once accepted to UCFB, watch out for emails regarding any future events and activities organised for you to integrate in a much smoother and quicker way.

Find out more about UCFB societies here.

With an exciting future full of possibilities for women in sport, current and future students will have a role in shaping the game and challenging the current landscape.

No dream is unreachable and every 'goal' is achievable. The competition is the same no matter what industry you're in. Just be bold!
