Students were given the chance to hear from digital experts labelled as innovators in the football industry for the work they have delivered with Premier League side Southampton.

Delete, an award winning digital agency, presented their work to BA (Hons) Football Business & Marketing students at UCFB Wembley, highlighting how they created an innovative website and digital platform for the Saints – one that has been described as the “best in the Premier League”.

Tom Dougherty, Partner & User Experience Director at Delete, took students through the steps Delete implemented to create the platform, outlining how many of the League’s top clubs had previously used their websites to report match results and sell tickets and merchandise, as opposed to engaging their fanbase with dynamic content day in day out

Delete’s Tom commented: “It was great to get the chance to present the Southampton FC digital transformation story to the students at UCFB. Hopefully we were able to demonstrate Delete’s experience in the sports marketing sector and provide the students with some valuable insights around the skills, processes and creativity required to work in this space”

Speaking after the presentation, Andrew Paterson, BA (Hons) Football Business & Marketing Lecturer at UCFB, who helped to organise, said: “It was a privilege to listen to Tom talk about the digital marketing strategy that Delete have been involved with, for the students to get a first-hand viewpoint of what the stages are of a project from the industry experts is a huge learning opportunity and I was thankful that Tom and Delete were able to give their time to UCFB to allow the students to share these expertise”
