This weekend will see Manchester United and Crystal Palace take to the hallowed turf at Wembley Stadium for the FA Cup Final.

Palace are looking to win the famous competition for the first time in what will be their second appearance in the final. The first time was in 1990 and was also against their opponents this year. Back then, United ran out 1-0 winners in a trophy win many credit with helping Sir Alex Ferguson keep his job at the time.

Another United win this time around will see the club equal Arsenal’s record of 12 FA Cup wins.

Both sides ran out 2-1 winners in their semi-finals at Wembley in April. A dramatic stoppage time winner from Anthony Martial saw United get the better of Everton following Spain goalkeeper David de Gea’s penalty save from the Toffees’ Romelu Lukaku.

Palace saw off the challenge of fellow Londoners Watford to book their place in the final. The winning goal came from Connor Wickham after the Hornets’ Troy Deeney had cancelled out the opener from Yannick Bolasie.

A number of UCFB Wembley students, who are fortunate enough to study in the world famous surroundings of the iconic Wembley Stadium, will be working in the lead up to and on match day in a variety of work placement roles.

One of them is Phillip Boothby, a BA (Hons) Sports Business and Sports Law student at UCFB Wembley. Intriguingly Philip will be taking part in a live magic trick. Philip also thinks Manchester United will run out 3-1 winners.

He said: “I put forward my interest to take part in a magic trick at Wembley Stadium, which the BBC will be filming for the Football Focus FA Cup Special on Saturday lunchtime before the game. My role will be to spectate the magic trick, I may even have the chance to be involved!”
