UCFB Wembley will welcome Southgate fresh from England’s 2-0 World Cup qualifying win over Lithuania, with the Three Lions top of Group F and looking good for a place at next year’s tournament in Russia.

Southgate took over from Sam Allardyce as England interim-manager in September 2016 before officially being given the job in November. His time as national team manager has so far included wins over Scotland and Malta, a draw with Spain and defeat to world champions Germany.

Before taking over as England boss, Southgate began his managerial career at Middlesbrough where he was also a player. His first season in charge saw memorable highlights including an 8-1 win over Manchester City. Despite his time at Middlesbrough including relegation to The Championship, his tactical and methodical approach to the game led many to believe he would one day take over as England manager.

After leaving Boro, Southgate was appointed as The FA’s head of elite development, before a three-year spell in charge of the England under-21 side.

His playing career also saw spells at Aston Villa, where he lifted the League Cup, and Crystal Palace, where he led the side to the First Division title in 1994.

Southgate earned 57 caps for England and played at two European Championships and one World Cup.

Gareth Southgate will appear at UCFB Wembley in the Great Hall, Level 3, at 11am on Tuesday 4th April.
