The UCFB Class of 2017 made history by becoming the first cohort to graduate from both the UCFB Wembley and UCFB Etihad Campus.

Students donned their robes, collected their degree certificates and celebrated long into the night following each of this week’s UCFB Graduation Ceremonies, which took place at the iconic Wembley and Etihad Stadiums respectively.

Following the launch of UCFB Wembley in 2014 and UCFB Etihad Campus in 2016, this year’s ceremonies saw the cohorts graduate from programmes such as BA (Hons) Sports Business & Coaching and BSc (Hons) Sports Psychology for the first time.

From UCFB, 92% of graduates are in full time employment, with almost two-thirds of those working in the football and sport industries. From the Class of 2017, graduates are already employed at the likes of Premier League club Stoke City.

Liam Kiziltan, who graduated with honours from the BA (Hons) Football Business & Marketing programme at UCFB Etihad Campus, commented upon his graduation: “Graduation was a remarkable way to finish my three years as a student at UCFB.  It was great to be able to invite my family members to the Etihad Stadium to celebrate my achievements, meet my academics and introduce them to rest of my cohort.

“The day acted as a reminder of the fantastic opportunities UCFB has given me. I now look forward to moving on and stepping into the world of sport, but as I go, I will never forget my time at UCFB and the experience I have gained will stay with me forever.”

Fellow BA (Hons) Football Business & Marketing graduate Joe Thompson now works for Stoke City, following his time at UCFB Wembley. He added: Graduation at Wembley Stadium was a fantastic ending to my time at UCFB, it was a brilliant day with family and friends. Over the last three years I have learnt so many key life skills. I would like to say a massive thank you to all UCFB staff and lecturers for everything they have done for us in that time and an amazing graduation.”

UCFB Principal Paul Cassell added his congratulations to this year’s graduates. He said: “This year’s graduation ceremonies were a momentous occasion for UCFB for a number of reasons. It always gives us such pleasure to see students succeed and celebrate their achievements with their peers and family. I wish all of our graduates every success for their future careers and congratulate them once again on successfully completing three years of hard work at UCFB.”
