A EU UCFB student got the chance to experience life at a professional football club in his home country of Austria.

Lukas Aschaber, a BA (Hons) Football Business & Marketing student at UCFB Etihad Campus, spent time over the summer with FC Wacker Innsbruck who ply their trade in the Austrian first division – Erste Liga.

His time at the club saw him working as a marketing intern where he was tasked with keeping check on the club’s CRM system and updating new memberships with the club actively looking to grow its supporter base.

Lukas’ two months at FC Wacker also coincided with the beginning of preseason and the season itself, so Lukas was also able to experience first-hand what working on match day was like, working in the team that helped prepare the pre-match entertainment for young supporters.

Lukas also had the perk of seeing the game from pitch side and watching on as post-match interviews were conducted with players by the watching media.

“I am convinced that all the experiences I had at the club helped to improve my practical skills and will be extremely valuable for my professional future.”
