Following the success of UCFB graduate Alexander Brown at last years’ ceremony, two current students were named as ‘ones to watch’ at this years’ prestigious Football Black List awards.

The list, which is named in honour of Ugo Ehiogu, celebrates the next generation of people from African and Caribbean backgrounds in football and is supported by the Premier League.

Jawahir ‘JJ’ Roble and Ethan Vidal, who study BA (Hons) Football Coaching & Management at UCFB Wembley and UCFB Etihad Campus respectively, have both been recognised for their contributions to the game.

The award rounds off an amazing year for JJ, who was recently named one of the BBC’s 100 most inspiring women in the world and also starred alongside Anthony Joshua and Jadon Sancho in the latest FIFA 20 advertising campaign.

Speaking about the event, JJ said: “It’s an honour to be on the ones to watch list. This award means so much and I can’t wait to achieve my goal one day.”

Ethan, who harbours ambitions of becoming a professional manager, is part of the UCFB Coaching Mentoring Scheme and couples his studies with a coaching role at Quinton Fortune Academy.

On the award, Ethan said: “I thank the Football Black List for considering me on their one to watch list. It is nothing less than an honour to be one of the many black women and men who are deservedly being recognised for what they do in football. I sincerely hope that I, along with everyone else involved, can continue moving forwards and inspire the younger generation to never give up.”
