UCFB is delighted to announce that Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher and former football agent Mel Stein will be talking to students next week as part of the Executive Guest Speaker Series.

Carragher, now a popular pundit on Sky Sports, will appear at UCFB Etihad Campus, and Stein, who has represented numerous England internationals over the years, will be at UCFB Wembley in the usual Tuesday and Wednesday guest speaker slots.

Jamie Carragher

Now a regular fixture on Sky Sports alongside his long term playing rival Gary Neville, ‘Carra’ is best known for his distinguished career at the heart of Liverpool’s defence.

A one-club man, Carragher made over 700 appearances for the Reds during a trophy laden 17-year spell at Anfield. In his time at Liverpool, Carragher won two FA Cups, three League Cups, a UEFA Cup and most famously of all the Champions League in 2005, when his team came from 3-0 behind to beat AC Milan in Istanbul.

On the international scene Carragher’s England career saw him win over 30 caps and feature in two World Cups in 2006 and 2010.

Since retiring in 2013, Carragher has been a popular pundit on Sky Sports alongside Neville, with the pair often praised for their analysis and continuing their on-pitch rivalry in the studio.

Mel Stein

Mel’s client list reads like a who’s who of football throughout the years.

As well as representing England stars Alan Shearer and Chris Waddle, it’s another Geordie legend that Mel is most recognised for working with. Paul Gascoigne’s move from the north east to Tottenham in 1988 was engineered by Stein, which enraged the then Manchester United boss Alex Ferguson who was convinced he was about to sign Gazza.

Stein is the founder of the Association of Football Agents, and has published a booked titled ‘How to be a Sports Agent’.

Mel Stein will appear at UCFB Wembley in Pitch View West at 11am on Tuesday 21st March. Jamie Carragher will be at UCFB Etihad Campus in the Commonwealth Suite at 10am on Wednesday 22nd March at 10am.
