Another UCFB Etihad Campus football team is celebrating league success to make it a hat-trick of championships this season.
The Men’s 2nd team joined the 1st and 3rd teams by securing their own league triumph after walking away with the BUCS Northern 6C title following a final day victory over University of Chester 2nd team. The 3-0 win saw them finish two points clear of nearest rival UCLan 5th.
Their success sees them join the 1st team, who won the Northern 4A title, and the 3rd team, who secured the Northern 7B title, as deserved league champions.
Manager Jake Newall, and captain Ryan Carter-Thompson were delighted with the team’s performances this season. They said: “We are so proud to have been able to coach such a great bunch of guys. Winning what turned out to be a very competitive league is nothing less than what they deserved. The character we showed throughout the season, scoring late winners, putting the work in on freezing Monday nights is a coach’s dream. Well done boys, we can’t wait to start next season!”
