UCFB coaching students will be able to keep themselves busy during the coronavirus lockdown thanks to the generosity of the Professional Football Scouts Association (PFSA).

The organisation has offered all UCFB coaching students the opportunity to access their portfolio of online learning courses available on their website. This includes the Introduction into Football Scouting, Opposition Analysis in Football and the brand new Technical Scouting in Football programme, which is due to launch later this month.

This will be of huge benefit in allowing students the chance to upskill in areas of scouting, analysis and talent identification.

The agreement comes on the back of Nacsport and AnalysisPro also stepping in to offer coaching students free access to the Nacsport video analysis software, to ensure they’re able to complete their assignments during this unprecedented period.

Commenting on the agreement, UCFB’s Darren Smith, who leads the BA (Hons) Football Coaching & Management programme, said: “Our partnership with the PFSA has allowed us at UCFB to offer our students, who want to make a career within football coaching or scouting, an opportunity to learn industry standard skills via the PFSA’s great online learning platform. The PFSA have been great in supporting not only our coaching students, but also our staff, to make sure we all can have a better understanding of oppositional analysis at the top level as well as scouting and talent development.”

David Hobson, co-founder of the PFSA added: “We are pleased to be working alongside UCFB as we aim to build on our partnership. The PFSA are both providing and creating knowledge which is usually locked away within elite clubs and making it available to our users. We are pleased we can share this content with students of UCFB and we look forward to supporting them on their journey through football.”
