UCFB Wembley Taster Days that took place on Monday 22nd and Tuesday 23rd of February were a resounding success with excited prospective students and their parents enjoying a first-hand experience of life at UCFB, including talks by VIP guest speakers Alex McLeish and Chris Powell.

Prospective students and their parents from all across the UK travelled to our UCFB Wembley campus, situated inside the iconic Wembley Stadium, to enjoy a truly unique insight into what it is like to live, work and learn at UCFB Wembley.

The guests were welcomed in the Great Hall, where they firstly had an opportunity to hear from UCFB Chief Executive Philip Wilson followed by the VIP guest speakers on each day. On the Monday, Scottish football Hall of Famer Alex McLeish spoke about his glittering management career and offered invaluable insight into life behind the scenes at a football club. The following day saw former England and Charlton left back Chris Powell describing his high profile playing career, his five successful years as Chairman of the Professional Footballers’ Association, and his 200 games as a manager of Charlton Athletic and Huddersfield Town.

The prospective students also attended masterclass taster sessions, which were tailor made to offer an understanding of what lectures in their preferred academic pathways would encompass. This not only gives them the chance to sample what their time at UCFB will be like, but also engage with their future academic staff and truly appreciate the sports industry experience that is delivered into academic offerings.
