Delighted BA (Hons) Football Business & Marketing graduate Sam Swanton has landed a fantastic position at Milton Keynes Dons Football Club as the Customer Service Representative working within the Retail Team.

Former Students’ Union President Sam puts his successful appointment down to a variety of skills he has gained during his three year academic journey at UCFB. Aside from dedicating himself to the programme, Sam grabbed every opportunity with both hands, recognising how all of these experiences would enrich his CV. Amongst Sam’s highlights were captaining the UCFB Burnley Men’s First Team in football, winning the league in an undefeated final season.

Thriving in his position as Vice-President of the UCFB Football Club in 2013/14, the following year Sam was elected as the Students’ Union President. Such was his determination and success, he was formally acknowledged for being extremely devoted and strong in engaging the student body. Sam didn’t miss a moment whilst at UCFB and was one of a handful of students who survived a 24 hour charity football marathon, generating a large sum of money for Children in Need.

With a real zest for life that keeps him motivated and committed to excel in a career within the sport industry, Sam commented:

“Football and business have been my two main passions since I was young and UCFB has enabled me to put these together through the academic programme and everything else there is on offer. My footballing experience has included representing Luton Town Youth Football Club in both France and Germany and playing for Hertfordshire for nearly four years. Whilst at UCFB I was fortunate enough to coach over in the US with Orlando City Soccer Club giving me a strong foundation to be able to step into the workplace and make a real impact upon Graduation. I’m incredibly excited to get started at MK Dons.”
