UCFB offers a number of unique scholarship opportunities to students of all abilities across a number of disciplines, with scholarships available based on academic and sporting achievements, as well as social mobility, among other categories.

Victor Borode, a BA (Hons) Football Coaching & Management student, was awarded the Access to Coaching Scholarship. Here, he tells us about how the award has helped him at UCFB, as well as detailing his time at UCFB so far.

How has the scholarship helped you so far?

My scholarship made the decision of coming to UCFB even better. Through it I have been given the chance to meet key people in the football industry, and it has made the vision for my future a lot clearer.

What made you decide to want to come to UCFB and apply for the scholarship?

Before starting at UCFB I was working in the community, grassroots and development side of football, but I needed to go further and gain more knowledge about the football industry. Coming to UCFB and then applying for the scholarship was the obvious next step of my journey.

How has your time at UCFB been so far?

My time so far has been exciting because there are so many opportunities that could pop up at any time while studying.

What aspects of UCFB have you enjoyed the most?

The people in the sports industry that we have met have been brilliant, and the trips we have gone on with my programme have been really insightful. But at the top of the list has to be the tutors on the BA (Hons) Football Coaching & Management programme and the scholarship team.

Any advice for students looking to come to UCFB, in particular those thinking of applying for a scholarship?

My advice is to have a clear vision of what you want from your degree programme and soak up as much knowledge from every source at UCFB.
