UCFB students were given the chance to meet and speak with Sheffield United Women’s striker Katie Wilkinson on a recent visit to UCFB Wembley.
Wilkinson, who has helped the Blades to second in the Championship this season, was invited by UCFB academic Jane Abbey, who was formerly her tutor, to discuss the women’s game and provide an insight ahead of students’ dissertations.
She has already represented England at under-19 level and was named player of the month in December after a goal-laden month.
During her visit Wilkinson also spoke with Dr Nick Wilde, UCFB’s Head of Academic (Postgraduate), a life-long Blades fan and Jane about her progress in the game.
Jane said: “I am very proud of what Katie has achieved in football. Who knows, we might even see her back at UCFB on the MSc Sport Management in the future!”
