UCFB and its Global Institute of Sport (GIS) are delighted to extend their partnership with the Professional Football Scouts Association (PFSA), designed to enrich our students’ experiences in the coaching and management sector.

The agreement will provide UCFB and GIS students with the opportunity to access their portfolio of leading online learning courses around the ever-increasing demands of scouting and talent identification. By accessing key knowledge from industry experts and building a network of contacts, students can continue to boost their employability prospects ahead of graduating.

The PFSA are the leading organisation in providing scouting and talent ID courses, with the programmes supported and endorsed throughout the football industry. They not only provide extensive knowledge and expertise in the area, but also support collaboration for learners to access scouting reporting opportunities in the UK, as well as at clubs in the MLS and Australia.

The programme will be available to all students based at our Wembley and Etihad Campuses on the BA (Hons) Football Coaching & Management, BA (Hons) Football Coaching & Talent Development and BA (Hons) Sports Business & Coaching undergraduate courses.

It’s also on offer to GIS Master’s students enrolled on the MSc Football Coaching, MSc Football Coaching & Analysis and MSc Performance Analysis, as well as for those studying the MSc Football Coaching & Analysis programme at our Miami and Melbourne Campuses.

UCFB’s partnership with the PFSA began during the COVID-19 pandemic, when the organisation offered students free access to a number of their programmes to allow them the chance to learn from home in areas of scouting, analysis and talent identification, as well as gain practical qualifications to complement their sports degree.

UCFB’s Academy Head Coach, Kevin Braybook, commented: “In order to support our students gathering industry experience and qualifications with the ambition to access football employment, it is critical to connect with leading organisations that align to our principles and values. The many students and staff that have benefitted from the PFSA courses justifies why we want to work closely and explore future opportunities.

“Our students have been able to access current game developments, trends and methodology around scouting whilst achieving a recognised qualification, which meets the demands of the industry and is the direction many of our students want to follow.”

David Hobson, PFSA’s Founding Director, added: "The PFSA are exceptionally pleased to be furthering our relationship with UCFB. Over the past several years and the partnership's initial announcement, the PFSA and UCFB have worked exceptionally hard to ensure a high level of collaboration, giving students further access to our portfolio."
