Following on from the inclusion in SportBusiness Magazine’s Top 40 Global Postgraduate Programmes, UCFB and GIS are delighted to win the award for Outstanding Collaboration at the 2022 Independent Higher Education Awards.

The award recognises the institution that showcased the best collaborations with industry partners in 2022, which reflects UCFB and GIS’s ethos to be more aligned with the global sports industry than any other educational institution in the world.

UCFB and GIS have students and alumni working in some of the world’s top sporting organisations, with many coming from the forward-thinking partnerships with some of sport’s most recognisable names, including the FA, the LMA, and the National League. On top of this, global partners include the likes of Inter Miami CF, New York Red Bulls, Maple Leaf Sports and Entertainment and the MCG, to name a few.

Speaking after the award win, Brendan Flood, Chairman of UCFB and GIS, commented: “We would all like to thank Independent Higher Education for acknowledging our hard work and success in providing unrivalled industry links for our students and graduates.

“Over the past 11 years we have worked tirelessly to build relationships with some of sport’s leading brands to give our students the skills to succeed in this industry. Being recognised with this award is a fantastic achievement and reflects our incredible employment rates; of our 2021 graduates, 94% are in full-time work or employment after 9 months, and 61% of those are either working or studying in sport.

“Over the coming years I look forward to our collaboration with industry growing stronger than ever, enabling us to put our students on the best path to success.”
