Look out world, here comes UCFB graduate Chelsea Crossey!

Chelsea, who graduated from UCFB Burnley last year in BA (Hons) Football Business & Marketing, has been shortlisted as one of the women of the future in the Northern Power Women (NPW) Top 50 Future list.

The inaugural list recognises the influencers, leaders and change makers of the future who are already making a difference in their environments and communities, meaning Chelsea is one to look out for when it comes to creating gender balanced workplaces.

Chelsea now works in the marketing department at children’s charity Child Action Northwest following her graduation from UCFB.

Upon her nomination, the NPW website says of Chelsea: “Chelsea made the decision early on that her experience and a strong work ethic would define and motivate her to succeed. During her time at UCFB, Chelsea was extremely passionate to network and gain experience. She is now embarking on the new chapter in her career at Child Action Northwest, where she values the continued support and guidance.”

Speaking of her achievement, Chelsea said: “One thing I learnt from all my placements and opportunities at UCFB is that I have a passion for people, and after graduation from UCFB I was very lucky to have gained an amazing graduate opportunity at Child Action Northwest. Shortly after gaining my first full time job I received an email from Northern Power Women saying that I had made the top 50 future list for the Northern Power Awards! I was so shocked but so proud of myself.”

Chelsea added: “I’ve always said to myself academically on paper I may not stand out despite all my efforts, so I was and always will be very passionate about being proactive regarding internships and work placements during my studies and now upon graduation, seeking any CPD opportunities and ways I can develop myself.  

“I’m very fortunate to have gained a great mentor and manager at Child Action Northwest who is helping and supporting me in reaching beyond my potential. I was also very lucky to be able to attend the awards night even though I had to present an award. It was scary but so inspiring to be in a room full of these women, and one day I could be on the power list!”
