UCFB is delighted to announce the return of the popular Dragon’s Den-style UCFB Sports Entrepreneur Award, with a massive £20,000 up for grabs for innovative students.

The competition is led by UCFB Chairman Brendan Flood and provides students with an unprecedented opportunity to compete for vital company investment.

Students from UCFB Wembley and UCFB Etihad Campus will be asked to pitch their sport business ideas to the UCFB Panel, which includes former FA Chairman Brian Barwick, and then field any questions they might have. The winning team or individual from each campus will receive a huge £5,000 investment, with two runners-up each earning £2,500.

Last year’s winners were Globall Sports, a unique business offering a glow in the dark football experience, targeted at children’s parties.

As well as the chance to win funding for their products, budding entrepreneurs will also receive guidance from Brendan and the rest of the Panel over the next year to help with their product development.

Teams will present to the Panel at UCFB Wembley on Friday 10th February, and at UCFB Etihad Campus on Friday 17th February.

The deadline for entries at both campuses is Friday 3rd February at 11.59 am.

Brendan said: “The UCFB Sports Entrepreneur Competition is a truly unique opportunity for our students to engage their minds and receive invaluable support for their sports business ideas. We encourage all students at UCFB Wembley and UCFB Etihad Campus to enter the competition and look forward to seeing their entrepreneurial spirit and creativity.”
