UCFB is delighted to announce the return of the popular Dragon’s Den-style UCFB Sports Entrepreneur Competition, with big cash prizes up for grabs for innovative students.

The competition is led by UCFB Chairman Brendan Flood and provides students with an unprecedented opportunity to compete for vital company investment.

Students from UCFB Wembley and UCFB Etihad Campus will be asked to pitch their sports business ideas to a UCFB panel and then field any questions they might have. The winning team or individual from each campus will receive a huge £5,000 investment, as well as being mentored through the development stages of their business.

Previous winners have included Thomas Freismuth, who has opened youth football camps in Austria and Slovenia, and Paul Carr, who has established The Walking Football Association (The WFA) – the new national governing body for the emerging sport.

Entries can be from individuals or groups of students, with the following information provided:

Proposed name of business venture;
Names of student(s) involved;
Detailed business plan with a breakdown of known costs.

UCFB Wembley entrants should email their details to s.fitzjohn@ucfb.com, and UCFB Etihad Campus entrants to m.halliday@ucfb.com, by Tuesday January 31st at 5pm. The shortlisted groups will then be notified and invited to present to the panel in early March, with the date to be confirmed.

Good luck!
