UCFB Wembley student Robert Quigley is set to jet off to South America for a unique month-long work experience in Brazil, working with first division club Coritiba FC.

A huge football fan and second year BA (Hons) Football Business & Marketing student at UCFB’s iconic campus in and around Wembley Stadium, Robert will be joining the club’s marketing department. While at the club, one of Robert’s main tasks for the month will be helping to implement the new Coritiba megastore, following the club’s new sponsorship deal with Adidas.

Ahead of his trip to the city, which is just over 500 miles south of Rio de Janeiro, Robert has been undertaking extensive research in London by visiting some of the capital’s major club retail stores, as well as visiting branded shops like Nike to take notes and understand what makes them successful.

An excited Robert said: “This is a fantastic opportunity to see how a football club operates abroad and how different this is compared to football clubs in England. In addition, it will be interesting to gain insight into a new culture as well as being involved in the local community.”

He added: “My interest in Brazilian football escalated when we studied the International Football Business module in the first semester of the second year. Additionally, I’m currently studying Portuguese to assist me when I arrive later this month. My personal aims are to achieve permanent links with the club, making friendships and valuable contacts, and exchanging ideas that I can help implement.”
