Students and staff across both UCFB campuses have been getting in the charitable spirit by taking part in fun activities all week to raise money for Comic Relief.

At UCFB Wembley, students were given the chance to ‘pie’ members of staff in exchange for a donation towards the charity, much to the enjoyment of many!

Further activities including guessing the amounts of sweets in a jar and wearing red for a day also helped towards UCFB Wembley raising funds for the worthy cause.

Further north at UCFB Etihad Campus, the big highlight of the week happens today when members of staff from UCFB take on the Men’s 1st team at the Regional Arena for a much anticipated football match, with each player donating to take part in the game.

A bake sale also took place in the Regional Café, part of the UCFB Etihad Campus, where the Students’ Union sold home baking and the café donated proceeds from its hot drinks sales.

Nick Radley, head of student services at UCFB Wembley, said: “We’ve had a lot of fun this week helping to raise money for Comic Relief. Students and staff have really got behind the events we’ve held and it’s been great to see so many people being so generous. The Students’ Union here at Wembley have been particularly brilliant in leading and organising the event over the past few days. I suppose getting pied isn’t too bad if it’s for a good cause!”

Dale Hagan, student events coordinator at UCFB Etihad Campus added: “Comic Relief is always a fun event for everyone at UCFB and this year has been no different. Plenty of planning has gone into organising the various events and the enthusiasm from students and staff has been great to see. We can’t wait to find out how much we’ve raised.”
