The NFL London games proved a huge success once again this year with games played at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium and Wembley Stadium. For some lucky UCFB students, there was the chance to gain work experience in the build-up and during these matches, including press days, training access and more...

What I liked most about the NFL London games was that fact that we got access to speak to actual NFL players when attending the media day, as well as how nice the players were to us as “rookie journalists”.

I can now say I’m more confident when talking to players and managers. Whilst being really nervous before sitting down with some of the Vikings players, once we started talking it was like I was having a normal conversation with a friend of mine, which was a bit weird, but in a good way!

Attending the Broncos v Jags game at Wembley yesterday was a highlight - that was awesome! My first proper NFL game as well, and in the same place that I go to university every week. Really good experience overall!

The New Orleans Saints open training session was an incredible experience. It was amazing to see how American sports interact with the media, as it differs so greatly from the UK. The whole experience made me much more open to the idea of working outside the UK and in other sports. I hope we can get more opportunities like this in the future.

I went to the New York Giants session. I went to the training session to take photos and attend the press conference. It was a great day and a really incredible opportunity for me, especially being a big NFL fan.

My favourite part was definitely the press conference, there wasn’t many people there so it was really easy to ask questions to some of the biggest names in the NFL. It helped with my course as I gained enough confidence to ask a question in a professional press conference which is something I’d never be able to do before I started UCFB. I asked QB Daniel Jones a question about his health as he’d got injured the week before and he gave me a detailed answer and it was absolutely brilliant.

I attended the New York Giants training and media day and it was an amazing experience. It was a great insight into how an American football team operates overseas.

My favourite part of the day was sitting in the press conference with Daniel Jones, Saquon Barkley and Dexter Lawrence. I got to meet Saquon Barkley and Daniel Jones afterwards which was a dream come true.

The day gave me a great idea of how a live press conference works and definitely something that I have taken away with me is how to approach players in these situations.
