UCFB Wembley is celebrating a hat trick of titles after all three of its football teams secured league success this season.

The Women’s team, as well as the Men’s 1st and 2nd teams, all won their BUCS leagues, losing just three games between them all season.

In an unforgettable year, UCFB Wembley Women topped the South Eastern 4A table after going unbeaten for the whole season; the Men’s 1st team secured the South Eastern 6D title and the Men’s 2nd team won the South Eastern 7C crown.

Their remarkable success sees them join UCFB Etihad Campus Women as league champions, after the northern girls secured the Northern 4A title earlier this month.

With the Men’s 1st team already confirmed league champions, the Women and Men’s 2nd team knew victory this week would confirm a UCFB clean sweep.

The Women duly obliged with a 3-1 win away at Brunel University Women’s 2nd, and the Men’s 2nd secured their title following a 1-0 win at University of the Creative Arts, Surrey Men’s 1st.

Commenting on the success of the teams, Jay Welsh, student engagement officer for sport at UCFB Wembley, said: “It’s been an incredible season for all of our teams at UCFB Wembley and is something all the players and coaching staff should be very proud of. To have all three teams at the campus win their league is an incredible achievement, and it’s even better that it follows the success of the UCFB Etihad Campus Women.

“The players and coaching teams have worked tremendously hard to achieve this so they deserve all the praise that comes their way.”
