UCFB Wembley’s Men’s First Team footballers have been crowned league champions in their inaugural season, with a perfect record of six wins in six games.

Dominating the BUCS South Eastern 8A division, the title-winning campaign for UCFB Wembley included impressive victories over Tottenham Hotspur, London School of Economics and Brighton, leaving them five points clear at the top with a goal difference of +23.

In a season that also saw both the Men and Women’s First Teams reach the quarter finals of their cup competitions, UCFB Wembley have come together to demonstrate a clear sporting prowess and team ethic.

Rory Campbell, UCFB Wembley Men’s First Team Coach, commented on the success:

“It is a great achievement for all of the players that have been involved with the first team throughout the season. I have been particularly impressed by the way that they have put into practice a lot of the hard work we have done in training throughout the season. Everyone has been a credit to UCFB with the commitment and application that they’ve demonstrated.”

Joe Thompson, BA (Hons) Football Business & Marketing student and Men’s Football President at UCFB Wembley, proclaimed:

“Winning the league is a fantastic achievement for this new team. We have some highly skilled players and a great squad, and this has been the key to a great first season. We now need to look forward to next season and do the same again.”

Lewis Timms, Sports Coordinator at UCFB Wembley added:

“This achievement really rewards the commitment that the students have shown throughout the season. Rory and the players have worked incredibly hard this year. I have confidence in the teams here at UCFB Wembley and should we keep progressing in this manner, then I have no doubt that UCFB will climb up the leagues in no time.”
