UCFB will celebrate International Women's Day next week by hosting its own Women’s Day Convention at UCFB Wembley.

Taking place on Wednesday 4th March, the UCFB Students’ Union event is aimed at female students as a source of inspiration and empowerment, with a number of conversations taking place on the day around wellbeing, relationships and careers.

With the theme of this year’s International Women’s Day being ‘an equal world enabled’, the final part of the day will be open to a broader student audience and will feature guest speakers Jordan Guard and Reece Land from Next Gen Sport Solutions. Next Gen is a sports management company that specialises in the representation and talent management of female athletes and key individuals within women’s sport.

Titled ‘Women’s sports: transforming the careers landscape’, the panel will explore themes around agents, contracts and player representation, as well as successful women in sport and the barriers they have had to overcome. There will also be discussions around the importance of engaging men as supporters for female empowerment. The aim of the session is to help attendees visualise their move into a successful career in sport.

Students are asked to check their UCFB emails for further details on how to sign up for the event.

International Women’s Day takes place on Sunday 8th March.
