A UCFB coaching student is celebrating having obtained a UEFA B coaching licence.
Albert Čečetka, a BA (Hons) Football Coaching and Management student, has achieved the new licence during the final year of his undergraduate studies at our Wembley Campus.
Speaking about his delight having achieved the UEFA B coaching licence, Albert said: “I’m over the moon, because this opens doors.
“The course overall connected me with amazing people and definitely made me a better coach in all aspects.”
Juggling this alongside his degree, he added: “One thing I like about UCFB is the time they give you to focus on coaching or any other aspect in terms of career, but that pays off only if you’re dedicated and driven. In other words, it’s important to use the time wisely.”
During his time in England, Albert has coached from U6 to U18 level of both boys’ and girls’ football, and is currently a U10 and U14 head coach.
He said: “The reason I came to England is to better myself as a coach since the number of professional environments here are countless.
“It was a big step out of my comfort zone to move here however I did not need to think twice about such opportunity.”
In the future, Albert’s plan is to graduate and see where he ends up coaching, whether that be in England, his native Czechia, or elsewhere. He looks forward to doing his A licence in the next few years.
“The dream would be to get into the upper half of the industry and make coaching a full-time job,” he said.
He finished: “Coaching is a very give but not take environment.
“However small openings always occurs and it’s important to take them and prove yourself.
“Always look on ways to improve and always look for opportunities to learn from friends, courses, books, etc. Obviously the most important thing is to enjoy it.”
