UCFB is delighted to announce that Wycombe Wanderers’ manager Gareth Ainsworth and football agent Sky Andrew will speak to UCFB students this week.

Ainsworth, who’s been in charge at Adams Park since 2012, and Andrew, who’s previously represented the likes of David Ginola and Jermain Defoe, will appear at UCFB Wembley and UCFB Etihad Campus on Tuesday 28th and Thursday 30th November respectively.

Gareth Ainsworth

With a playing career that reads like a who’s who guide to English football, midfielder Ainsworth has a deep knowledge of the football pyramid.

After beginning his career at non-league Northwich Victoria, Ainsworth had spells at the likes of Preston North End, Lincoln City and Port Vale, before becoming a firm fans’ favourite at Queens Park Rangers and latterly Wycombe.

Ainsworth was appointed player manager at Adams Park in 2012 and has maintained the club’s League Two position despite battling against financial uncertainty. The club were just seconds away from promotion in 2015, before a late Southend United equaliser led to a play-off final penalty shoot-out defeat at Wembley Stadium. Ainsworth was later named LMA Manager of the Year for his achievements that season.

Sky Andrew

A table tennis ace in his youth, Andrew represented Great Britain at the 1988 Seoul Olympics before winning three Commonwealth Table Tennis Championship golds the following year.

After retirement in 1994, he moved into agency and representing show business personalities, before becoming the first licensed black British football agent. With a roster that has included Jermaine Pennant and Jay Bothroyd, as well as Ginola and Defoe, his most high profile client was Sol Campbell, with Andrew playing a major part in the defender’s highly controversial move from Tottenham Hotspur to rivals Arsenal.

Gareth Ainsworth will appear at UCFB Wembley in Pitch View West at 11am on Tuesday 28th November. Sky Andrew will be at UCFB Etihad Campus in the 1894 Suite on Thursday 30th November at 11am.
