Working for your hometown club in the Premier League is the stuff dreams are made of, but for UCFB graduate Lewis Buck, that dream became a reality at the right time.

Just as Norwich City were riding high in the Championship in 2019 on their way to promotion, Lewis returned home to join the club as Partnerships Manager, with his and the club’s trajectory on similar paths.

Reflecting on where he’s come from and where he’s going, Lewis, a MSc Sport Management graduate, said: “The other day I was just thinking – how many people have worked for their home town club in the Premier League? It’s amazing timing that the exact progression I wanted in the summer came along, and it just happened to be at my home town club… the club I’ve supported my whole life.”

In his role at Carrow Road, Lewis manages the club’s extensive list of partners to ensure they get what they pay big money for. He says the biggest highlight at the club so far has been launching the partnership with Lotus, one of the club’s main sponsors. Speaking about his role, Lewis said: “It can be quite tricky sometimes. There’s a lot of rights and we’ve got a lot of partners here, so it’s a very detailed job planning everything throughout the season to ensure we hit key points.”

Before joining the Canaries, Lewis worked as a Partnerships Account Executive at Everton FC, joining the Toffees straight after finishing his studies at UCFB. On his time at UCFB, Lewis said: “It was interesting to be with a group of likeminded people who have the same goals and same interests, but also totally different skillsets that you could lean on in group projects.”
