Etihad accommodation FAQs
Are UCFB Etihad Campus halls catered?

Halls of residence in Manchester are self-catered, with excellent facilities for students to cook to their own taste in modern flats. A number of restaurants and cafes are only a short walk or tram journey away from the city centre and Etihad Campus. A large 24 hour Asda, Spar, Tesco, Sainsbury’s, not to mention China Town, are also close to the city centre too.

Do students stay in halls for a number of years?

First year students are given priority over rooms in halls, but opportunities for second and third year students are available upon request.

How do I apply?

Please complete the online reservation form via the UCFB Etihad Campus accommodation page.

If I’m holding an offer from UCFB as my insurance choice, should I still make an application for accommodation?

Yes. Please let us know that you are holding an offer as your insurance choice and then we can process your application without delay as soon as you accept a place.

Do I need to pay an application fee/deposit?

There is a £200 deposit to pay at the time of the booking. You can cancel your booking at any time up until two days after you receive your exam results. Cancellations must be in writing to Mill Point either directly or via UCFB.

Is the advance rent payment refundable if I don’t end up attending UCFB?

The deposit is refundable should you not get the grades to study at UCFB and you notify Mill Point within 48 hours of receiving your grades.

What are the accommodation options for students at UCFB Etihad Campus?

UCFB has partnered with Liberty Living at Mill Point to offer UCFB Etihad Campus students vibrant, safe and centrally-located student accommodation in the heart of Manchester.

Mill Point offers 24hr security, onsite CCTV and Wi-Fi.

The accommodation is located just a short walk from Manchester Piccadilly or Deansgate station with direct links to the UCFB Etihad Campus. Manchester city centre and its abundance of bars, restaurants and shops are right on your doorstep.

For more information on accommodation and to book, please see visit our dedicated UCFB accommodation page here.

How do I arrange a tour of the accommodation?

If you would like to arrange a tour of Mill Point, please contact Living Liberty directly on 0161 273 8608 or visit their website.

How many weeks of the year will I be liable for?

All rooms at Mill Point are on a 41 week contract.

Who do I need to tell if I have a disability that affects the type of accommodation I require?

In the first instance you will need to tell our Student Recruitment & Admissions Office on 03332417333 or via email at accommodationetihad@ucfb.com.

Arrangements can be made where possible to accommodate individual requests from students that are disability related. Our Student Services team will work closely with you to find the best solution possible regarding your accommodation.

Do I need to let UCFB know if I will be living at home?

No, this is not required and you can disregard any information you receive on UCFB accommodation.

What if I do not wish to live in halls of residence?

UCFB halls of residence are offered for the full academic year and we encourage you towards this option. However, renting private accommodation is also an option for some students, such as students with families.

What happens if I defer my place at UCFB?

In this case, please disregard any information you receive on accommodation for the current academic year. We will send you the information again for your deferred place at the appropriate time. If you defer after you have booked accommodation you should contact us as soon as possible.

When I receive my exam results do I need to inform UCFB that I am definitely taking up my place?

No. Your application for accommodation will immediately begin to be processed as soon as UCFB is informed by the academic registry at our validating partners that you have an Unconditional Firm (UF) place with UCFB.

I haven’t received information about accommodation yet. What should I do?

You should have received accommodation information by the end of April. If you are a late applicant to UCFB you may receive accommodation information at a later stage.

If you are worried because you have not received any information, please contact our Accommodation Office on 03332417333 or via email on accommodationetihad@ucfb.com.

Can I be released from my Residence Agreement to move into private student housing mid-semester or to return to live at home?

No, you will be entering a 41 week contract and will therefore be liable for the rent unless a replacement tenant is found.

If my son/daughter opts to commute but partway through the first term decides they would prefer to move into accommodation, would it be too late?

Rooms are subject to availability and UCFB will be happy to help with any arrangements should this be the case. Please email us at accommodationetihad@ucfb.com.

Is Mill Point the same building as Liberty Point?

Yes, Liberty Point has recently been renamed Mill Point.
