*This degree will be available from September 2021, subject to validation.

Degree available as a full-time (one year) or part-time (two year) option.

Degree overview

This programme will take an in-depth look at the numbers that make the game tick, alongside theoretical and practical coaching disciplines. It will enable students to develop a systematic and in-depth understanding of knowledge, and a critical awareness of current problems and/or new insights for the advanced study of football coaching and analysis.

It is ideal for current professionals working within the football industry who prefer a more flexible mode of delivery instead of a purely campus based programme.

By having the opportunity to learn from the comfort of their own home or workplace, programme participants will be able to gain a further qualification to enhance their career prospects in a format that offers flexible hours and the chance to dictate their own work-life balance to fit around other commitments.

This programme is designed for those who already work, or aspire to work, in the sports industry, and offers the flexibility to allow participants to gain a Master’s degree qualification around their busy lifestyle.

This programme is a Blended degree, meaning the majority of your studies will take place online through UCFB’s dedicated Online Hub. However, there will be the opportunity to learn on-campus at either UCFB Wembley, London or UCFB Etihad Campus, Manchester, for ten days in two blocks of five days each.

GIS will be looking to deliver the on-campus elements of this blended degree at some of GIS’ global study hub locations from 2021/22.

Item 2

Degree content

This course will be delivered in two ways. Firstly, and in the main, students will receive materials via the UCFB Online Hub, where students work through structured lessons with information provided in each session based on the core module content, to introduce key information and concepts. In some cases, this replaces the traditional format of a lecture and seminar. Concepts and ideas are then tested via case studies, reflective practice and online forums.

Learning will predominantly occur through online content however, each module will have a number of live sessions that will be focused on the clarification and expansion of key concepts. These sessions are seen as playing a key role in providing a platform fostering a community of learning between tutor and students.
