Plan Your Open Day

Make the most of your UCFB Open Day by planning ahead. Discover our sessions, exhibitions, and tours, and take the time to explore both our campus and the local area. Choosing where to study is just as important as what to study – and an Open Day is your chance to see whether UCFB is the right fit for you.

Meet our team

Open Day Exhibition

The Open Day Exhibition is your first stop for comprehensive information about UCFB’s main student services. Explore dedicated stands covering:

Our Future Students Team will also be available to answer general enquiries and provide guidance.

This is a valuable opportunity to speak directly with staff and current students, gaining insight into academic life, support services, and career opportunities at UCFB. Prepare a list of questions in advance to make the most of each conversation and ensure you cover all the topics important to you.

Kick off your Day

Welcome Talk

You’ll begin with a welcome session, providing an overview of what makes UCFB unique. The talk will include an introduction from one of our campus Deans, insights into how UCFB’s growing sports industry network can support your future career, and a perspective from a UCFB student ambassador on what student life is really like.

This session sets the scene for the rest of your Open Day, giving you a clear understanding of the UCFB experience.

Your degree

Course Insights

Gathering information about the courses you are interested in is a key part of your Open Day. Some degree talks will cover multiple related courses in one session, while others focus on a single course. You will receive your Open Day schedule on arrival, which allows you to attend two different talks. We recommend prioritising the course you are most interested in, but also taking the opportunity to explore another course to broaden your perspective.

During these sessions, our course leaders and lecturers will provide detailed insights into each degree, including content, structure, and potential career pathways. Thinking ahead about any questions you may have will help you get the most from each session.

Explore

Our Campuses

To get a real sense of life at UCFB, make time to explore both our campus and the surrounding area. You are welcome to visit the teaching and learning facilities in the building hosting the Open Day, experiencing first-hand the spaces where you’ll study and collaborate.

While a full campus tour is not usually included in the Open Day schedule, additional access to other campus facilities may be available, either UCFB-led or self-guided. Details of any tours or extra access will be shared on the day. Familiarising yourself with Our Campuses ahead of your visit can help you plan your time and make the most of your Open Day experience.

Accommodation

Plan Your Stay

Before attending the Open Day, explore UCFB’s accommodation options to get a sense of where you could live during your studies. You can pick up further information at the Open Day Exhibition or visit the accommodation areas anytime between 9am – 6pm (times subject to change, no booking required).

At Wembley, our accommodation is located in the same building as the Open Day at Arch View House, so it can become busy during peak times. At Manchester, accommodation is centrally located and separate from the Open Day venue, so it is best visited before or after your scheduled sessions.
