How to Apply

Step 1

Decide

Your Course

The first step is to decide on the degree you would like to study. Take an in-depth look at course entry requirements, modules and career prospects. Make sure to look at each degree page to find out which of our campuses your chosen course is available at.

Step 2

Register With

UCAS

Visit the UCAS Hub to register. Once logged in, you’ll be directed to the dashboard, where you can access the ‘Your Application’ section. Click here for advice from UCAS on how to apply.

Step 3

Complete Your

Details

Ensure all of your personal and contact details are correct, from mandatory questions, email address, funding plans, education history and employment history. We strongly recommend using your personal email address rather than your school / college email. Please ensure you provide FULL details of qualifications achieved.

Step 4

Select Your

Course

When you first apply through UCAS you can select up to 5 courses. Many UCFB applicants choose 5 different UCFB courses and we are happy to manage that with you. We recommend that you choose a degree and a campus as a preference as there is no need to worry about choosing the same course on both campuses, or choosing the three-year course and the four-year course in the same subject.

If you would like to change your preferences at any point, just let us know. UCFB institution code is U10.

Step 5

Complete Your

Personal Statement

and Get a Reference

Start by explaining why you’re interested in applying and what made you choose this course. Highlight any transferable skills you’ve gained, your academic accomplishments, and any personal achievements you’re proud of. Our team can provide guidance on how to successfully complete this.

After that, you’ll need to provide a written reference from a teacher, advisor, or professional who knows your academic abilities well.

Step 6

Submit Your

Application

You’re ready to go! Check all of your details before submitting your full application – you’ll be able to review it and make any edits.

For 2025 entry, the application fee will be £28.50 for up to 5 choices.

Free school meals application fee waiver: For the 2025 cycle, if you have been in receipt of free school meals at some point during the last six years (during your secondary education) up until the end of your final year, you will be eligible to have your application fee waived. Find out more.

UCAS Hub and Key Dates

UCAS set key dates and deadlines throughout the year which applicants and institutions must meet in order to ensure that your application is not left open and in limbo for too long. It’s important that you keep a close eye on UCAS and your emails as sometimes you will have a deadline to respond that could lead to you losing your offers if you miss it.

January 29th 2025: all applications received at UCAS by 18:00 GMT will be considered equally. Applications received at UCAS after this time may not be considered by some institutions.

February 26th 2025: UCAS Extra opens. If you have used all 5 choices and are not holding an offer, you can add another via UCAS Extra.

June 30th 2025: This is the deadline for applications to reach UCAS. Applications after this are automatically entered into clearing.

July 4th 2025: UCAS Extra closes.

July 5th 2025: UCAS Clearing opens.
