Understanding Your

Undergraduate Fees and Funding

You will be responsible for covering your tuition fees, which can be financed through a student loan. In addition to tuition, you’ll also need to budget for accommodation and daily living expenses. These costs may include rent, utilities, groceries, transportation, and other personal expenses, all of which are important to consider when planning your financial needs as a student living independently.

The below outlines undergraduate tuition fees for UK and International students studying at UCFB in September 2025:

  • UK Tuition Fees: £9,535 per year
  • International Tuition Fees: £16,450 per year

The below outlines undergraduate tuition fees for UK and International students studying BA (Hons) Football Coaching Distance with Attendance in January 2025:

  • UK Tuition Fees: £9,250 per year
  • International Tuition Fees: £16,450 per year

Please note, undergraduate tuition fees for UK students are regulated by the UK government.

For further information on our tuition fees, email fees@ucfb.com or call our Student Recruitment & Admissions Office on 03330605114.

You can begin your application for a student loan through Student Finance England by visiting their website at www.gov.uk/student-finance. There’s no need to wait until you’ve received an offer from us to apply for financial assistance. By starting your application early, you can get ahead of the process and ensure that your funding is in place well before your course begins.

To find UCFB courses on the Student Finance Portal, follow the instructions below:

Select University of East London (University of East London award UCFB degrees).

Search for the full course title – choose the correct course and campus you wish to study at.

International students are not eligible to apply for a loan through Student Finance England.

Useful Tips

We encourage you to apply as soon as possible to ensure your finances are in place for the new academic year.

You will need your Student Finance confirmation notification letter to fully enrol or your enrolment could be delayed.

The later you apply for your finance, the more likely it is that you may not get all the funding you are entitled to when your first term starts.

The quickest and easiest way for you to apply is through your online account at the various Student Finance regions SFE (England), SFW (wales), SFNI (Northern Ireland) and SAAS (Scotland) online application pages.

Different rules apply to students from Gibraltar, Isle of Man and The Channel Islands. Contact your respective education departments in those areas.

If you are not yet sure of the course you will be doing, you should still apply for finance using the details of the course you are most likely to attend, and if this changes, you can come back and update your finance application.

You will need your National Insurance number and in-date UK passport details, as well as your bank account details.

Full-time students have to pay back any loans plus interest once you complete your course and start earning more than £25,000 a year. You don’t have to repay any grant or bursaries.

For more information, visit www.gov.uk/repaying-your-student-loan/what-you-pay.

Eligible UK students can apply for a Maintenance Loan which can support the cost of your accommodation, rent and other living costs during your studies with us. This is provided by Student Finance England.

For more information, visit www.gov.uk/student-finance/new-fulltime-students.

Useful Tips

As a general guide, the maximum maintenance loans are:

Living and studying in London away from parental home: £13,022

Living and studying in London at parental home: £8,400

Living and studying outside London: £9,978

The minimum maintenance loan available is: £3,516

These calculations are based on a parental income of £25,000 per annum or less. Once the parental household income goes above £25,000 the maintenance loan entitlement reduces.

Additional Information

In common with universities throughout the UK, the level of tuition fee for which a UCFB student is charged is based on their “fee status”.

Students are classified as either having a “Home / UK” or an “International” fee status and the tuition fee you will be charged will depend on:

  • Your Nationality
  • Your immigration Status in the UK
  • Where you have been resident for the three years prior to the start of your chosen programme and what you have been doing during that time

The Admissions Team at UCFB will make an assessment of your status in line with UK regulations and guidance issued by the UK Council for International Student Affairs (UKCISA). You can find the regulations and guidance here.

If we require further information from you to determine your fee status, we will send you a UEL Fee Assessment Form for you to complete and return to us. We may ask for supporting evidence:

  • The right of permanent residence in the UK/EU. Examples of documents you will need to provide include a copy of the relevant pages of your passport (pages confirming name and nationality) and any other supporting documentation that shows your right to remain in the UK.
  • Residence in the UK for the three years immediately prior to the start of the course and not for the purpose of full-time education. Examples of documents you will need to provide include three years of utility bills and payslips (for a single month from each of the three years preceding the start of your course).

Please be aware that applicants who hold Pre-Settled or Settled status will qualify for home fees but you will be required to submit evidence of your status.

Please note that if you are assessed as an International student for fee purposes, you will need to evidence a valid visa to study in the UK.

If you have any questions or queries about your fee status please contact admissions@ucfb.com.
