JC holds a Doctorate/PhD from the University of Sheffield (media, journalism, public communication, and international politics) and is currently pursuing a second doctoral degree at York St John’s University (Philosophy, Humanities, and Religion). He is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA) and is aiming to gain his SFEA by the end of 2026. He also holds a master’s in human Rights (University of Manchester), a PGCE in English & Literacy with a distinction in teaching practice (Bolton University), and a degree in Youth and Community Work—JNC Professional Youth Worker (Manchester Metropolitan University).

Teaching for several years at the University of Sheffield, JC was among the winners of the prestigious University of Sheffield Education Awards 2023 (Teaching Practice – Highly Recommended). At the UCFB, JC contributes to different modules/courses, running from foundation level to level 6.

He especially leads the L5 UN5010 module (Industry readiness—Media Pathway) and the L4 UN4002 (Media, Sports, and Society). One of his key roles is supervising final year students with their dissertations, demonstrating his commitment to guiding students towards academic success.
