A football business graduate recently attended one of our Premier Events to talk to students about his UCFB journey and his two scouting roles at two different football clubs.

Robin Krasniqi, who studied BA (Hons) International Football Business, now works as assistant coach of Rayo Vallecano U17s and as a video scout for Derby County.

Robin returned to the UCFB Wembley Campus where he studied to talk to students at our Sports Coaching and Performance Conference.

Speaking about his dual role, Robin said: “I work during the day for Derby, so the head of recruitment sends me games to watch and players to look into. I download those games, do player reports and upload them on the club’s platform.

“Then in the evenings, I go to the training ground in Madrid at Rayo and do training sessions, support the coach and plan the sessions.”

Robin went on to talk about his time as a student at UCFB.

“I loved being here in London, at Wembley, an amazing stadium,” he said. “I thought I would get used to the fact that I was coming to the stadium so often. But each time, I was like a little kid again.

“The guest speakers were brilliant, I really enjoyed those. But also the networking; I still keep in touch with a lot of my colleagues.”

He added: “All the jobs I have had have started with UCFB. I’m at Rayo Vallecano because of a contact I made through UCFB.

“One piece of advice would be to get out, meet a lot of people. You have to be lucky to meet the right people, but if you go out more often, you can get many opportunities.”
