A UCFB graduate has since gone on to gain a career at a Premier League club, working Fulham FC.
Minnie Roe, who studied a postgraduate degree course at UCFB in MSc Football Communications and Digital Marketing, is now the Cottagers’ commercial sales executive.
Speaking about her role, Minnie said: “I sell matchday and seasonal hospitality within the Riverside Stand, as well as some of our other venues.
“We also take care of operating the matchday and meeting with clients.”
She then spoke about what she considers the best thing about working for a Premier League club.
“The matchdays,” she said. “Everything you do during the week leads up to the weekend game.
“It’s so great as well, being in a client-facing role, as you get to understand more about lots of different people and get to meet people from different industries.
“Another thing I love about the matchday is being in and around the stadium itself. It’s such a nice atmosphere on a matchday.”
When asked about her time at UCFB, she said: “My favourite thing was definitely the location, studying at such an iconic stadium in Wembley.
“I also met really good friends which I still have, and they also all work in the football industry, so it’s fun to share those experiences with people you meet there.”
She added: “I’d really recommend UCFB graduates doing a postgraduate.
“It gives you more time to understand the industry, meet more people and figure out what you want to do before joining that working world.
“All the skills you learn in a postgraduate degree are just that step further than an undergraduate degree, and you get that bit more responsibility and time to understand the field you’re going to be working in.”
