UCFB partners with Greater Manchester Wellbeing Series to champion staff and student wellbeing

UCFB partners with Greater Manchester Wellbeing Series to champion staff and student wellbeing

University Campus of Football Business (UCFB) has become the official higher education partner for the inaugural Greater Manchester Wellbeing Series.

As part of the partnership, UCFB will enter teams of students and staff to participate in the Greater Manchester Wellbeing Run and Walk at Heaton Park on May 21, followed by the Greater Manchester Meditation which will help unite UCFB across multiple campuses.

The collaboration is rooted in a shared commitment to prioritise wellbeing and provides a unique platform for students to connect directly with the Greater Manchester business community, building professional networks before they enter the work environment.

The partnership is a direct reflection of UCFB’s core values of “one team united around sport” and “bringing your best game.” By participating, students will gain firsthand insight into the importance of workforce wellbeing, alongside valuable work experience opportunities in the management of major city-wide events.

Brendan Flood, founder and chair of UCFB, said: “At UCFB, the wellbeing of our students and staff is fundamental in our mission to develop the future leaders of the sports industry.

“This partnership is a tangible investment in our community’s resilience and connection, both with each other and with the wider business world.

“The run and walk offer a fantastic opportunity for our students to engage directly with the Greater Manchester workforce.

“Furthermore, the inclusive nature of the series is a perfect fit for us. The virtual Greater Manchester Meditation in October is open to everyone, meaning our entire community across all UCFB sites can take part in this important initiative.

“It’s a powerful, practical platform to bring our ‘one team’ value to life.”

Nick Rusling, founder of the Greater Manchester Wellbeing Series, said: “This collaboration with UCFB is a perfect alignment of values and a fantastic step forward for our movement.

“We exist to prove that shared moments of movement and mindfulness can transform wellbeing, and to have the next generation of sports industry leaders actively involved is incredibly powerful.

“It’s a brilliant opportunity for students not only to participate but also to gain practical, hands-on experience in our sector.

“When an institution like UCFB commits so strongly, it sends a clear message. The positive impact of their involvement will ripple out across the entire city-region.”
