Several UCFB students were recently treated to a visit to THG Studios to gain behind-the-scenes access at The Overlap.
The students were invited by UCFB’s dedicated Employability and Career Planning Team, who have taken a number of students on industry insight trips to the Manchester-based studios.
Students gained knowledge and insight about the production of sports, acting as extras as part of an episode of The Overlap, the football podcast which has won YouTube Series of the Year, Podcast of the Year and averages more than 3 million views per episode.
Many students attended, including BA (Hons) Sports Business and Coaching student Megan Chapman, who spoke about her experience on the visit.
“What an unforgettable experience,” she said. “An inspiring and insightful day from start to finish.”
“It was a privilege to hear footballing legends Jamie Carragher and Wayne Rooney reflect on their careers, share their stories, and engage in some truly passionate debates with fans.
“Being behind the scenes of such a well-respected production gave me valuable insight into the world of football media and content creation.”
