Peter has spent a considerable amount of time in higher education having taught on both postgraduate and undergraduate programmes at a number of top ranked universities. Prior to joining UCFB in 2016, Peter was the Course Director of the MHA at the world ranked Cranfield University. Peter taught on their Executive MSc Programmes and professional short courses for nearly 20 years in a number of areas including healthcare, manufacturing, engineering, clinical research and management. Peter has taught at Leicester Business School, Nottingham University, and guest lectured at the Judge Institute, Cambridge University, and at Manchester, Durham, Imperial and Aston Business schools.
Peter has a strong affinity for sport, especially football. Peter led a bid for a Premier League club, writing the Information Memorandum for investors and devising the strategic plan for the club. Peter’s research background is based in applied research, specifically to provide commercial outcomes for industry. An interesting piece of work produced a system known as P.O.S.I.T.I.V.E (Prevention Of Simulation by Impact Technologies In the Verification of Error). POSITIVE detects diving in football through the use of Formula 1 impact technologies.
Before entering academia, Peter worked at senior management level in the following industries: financial services, logistics, manufacturing, and professional membership. Peter has a wealth of contacts in the football world and within the business world, notably in investment banking. His main focus is always the student experience and preparing students for their future job roles through practical advice, assessment and a real world focus.
