Football Through My Lens challenges 16-18 year olds to tell their personal football story through a single photograph. Whether it’s grassroots or elite, matchday or everyday, we want to see your perspective.

This exciting collaboration between UCFB and the National Football Museum gives young people the opportunity to explore football culture through creativity.

The Brief

Capture what football means to you in a single image.

We’re looking for photographs that reflect the emotional, cultural, and community aspects of football. This could be anything from a local match to a moment of personal significance.

Your photo should:

Tell a story
Feel personal to you
Clearly connect to football

We’re more interested in your idea and perspective than technical perfection.

Struggling for inspiration?

Emotions: joy, tension, disappointment, anticipation
Objects: balls, boots, goalposts

Submission Guidelines

How to Enter

To enter the competition, you should:

Submit one photograph per person
Use any device (phone, camera, tablet)
Upload your image as a JPEG file
Submit the entry form with:
Your details
Title of your image
Short description of your idea
Email your image following submission instructions

Student Prizes:

Photo exhibited at the National Football Museum
iPad (model and specification to be confirmed)
4 tickets to football match at Wembley Stadium (or equivalent) subject to availability
UCFB hoody

School Prizes:

£2,000 towards school football kit
Coaching session delivered by UCFB
National Football Museum Takeover Day (for up to 120 students)
Winners plaque

£100 voucher
2 tickets to a UCFB event
