UCFB student Lochran Rowan gained behind-the-scenes experience with the Jacksonville Jaguars at this year’s NFL London Games, supporting media operations across Wembley Stadium and the team’s training facilities.
Lochran, who studies BA (Hons) Football Business at UCFB, gained first-hand experience supporting one of the NFL’s most recognisable franchises during one of the biggest events in the UK sporting calendar.
After spotting the opportunity on UCFB’s Employability and Career Planning platform JobTeaser, Lochran wasted no time applying.
“I came across the media assistant role for the Jacksonville Jaguars on JobTeaser,” he revealed.
“As soon as I saw it, I knew I had to apply as this would be an opportunity of a lifetime whilst being at UCFB.”
As a Media Assistant, Lochran played a key role in supporting media operations throughout the week, working across both the team’s training facility and Wembley Stadium.

The role involved liaising with leading broadcasters and media organisations covering the event, ensuring activities ran smoothly behind the scenes as the Jaguars prepared for their London fixtures.
“My role consisted of supporting all the media companies such as Sky Sports and DAZN around the training facility and Wembley Stadium on game day. I had to help coordinate the Jags’ activities to ensure everything ran smoothly throughout the week.”
The experience provided invaluable insight into the scale and complexity of delivering an international sporting event, while offering the opportunity to work alongside industry professionals operating at the highest level of sport.
From coordinating media activity to seeing matchday operations up close, Lochran was able to develop practical skills that complemented his studies and further strengthened his understanding of the sports industry.
For Lochran, one moment stood out above the rest.
He added: “My favourite part would have to be game day as it was my first time watching an NFL game and to see how it runs behind the scenes was so insightful to my learning.”
The opportunity also offered Lochran the chance to learn from industry professionals, including UCFB graduateMackenzie Cadman, Senior UK Operations Manager at the Jacksonville Jaguars, who played a key role in delivering the organisation’s UK operations throughout the NFL London Games.
Experiences like these are a key part of the UCFB student journey, providing opportunities to gain real-world industry experience alongside academic study. Whether it’s working at major sporting events, building professional networks or learning from industry leaders, students are regularly given the chance to develop the skills and connections needed for a career in sport.
Lochran’s experience with the Jacksonville Jaguars is another example of how UCFB students are turning classroom knowledge into industry experience, gaining unique insights and building their professional profiles at some of the world’s biggest sporting organisations and events.
