GIS Master's Scholarships Programme has been designed to encourage students from all backgrounds and abilities to embrace their time at GIS and graduate with more than just their university degree. These initiatives not only offer students the chance to earn money off their tuition fees, but also gain skills and contacts that will enhance their CV, employment prospects and enhance their overall GIS experience.

Shape the Future Scholarship

The scholarship programme is open to applicants holding an offer for an on campus (Wembley or Etihad) MSc programme with UCFB. Applicants will be able to demonstrate special talents through academic or extracurricular achievements and provide compelling examples of how they have tried to make a positive impact in the football and sport industry at any level.

Aspects including household income and widening participation (being from an under-represented demographic in football and sport) will also be taken into consideration in the selection process

Scholarship Value: FT:£3,000 (£2,000 tuition fees +£1,000 towards sports industry events/conferences such as UCFB Global Sports Summits)

PT: £3,000 (the tuition fee value of the scholarship will be divided into two years of study)

Outstanding Student Award

The scholarship programme is open to applicants holding an offer for any Master's degree programme with UCFB. Applicants will have an outstanding academic and extra-curricular profile, passion for the football and sports industry and be able to demonstrate leadership potential through academic profile and extracurricular activities.

Scholarship value: FT: £2,000 (£1,000 tuition fees +£1,000 towards sports industry events/conferences such as UCFB Global Sports Summits)

PT: £2,000 (the tuition fee value of the scholarship will be divided into two years of study)

Women In The Game Scholarship

The scholarship programme is open to outstanding female applicants holding an offer for an on campus (Wembley or Etihad), MSc programme with UCFB. Candidates should have an interest in football, the ability to set clear goals and have a drive to achieve them. The recruitment process will address the diversity criteria, ensuring that a range of candidates from ethnic, socially diverse backgrounds, as well as from groups with other protected characteristics, apply for the programme.

The scholarship students will benefit from a partnership between UCFB and Women in Football in a form of a one-year programme that will combine support towards tuition fees for a Master's degree at UCFB along with being exposed to professional expertise (seminars and training), mentoring and networking offered by UCFB, Women in Football and their partners. The programme will help to develop student’s football industry knowledge and experience and enhance their leadership and communication skills.

Scholarship value: £1,500 (£1,000 tuition fees + £500 for a leadership course run by Women in Football and travel costs). 

PT: £1,500 (the tuition fee value of the scholarship will be divided into two years of study)

 

Jason Roberts Foundation Scholarship

Offered in partnership with the Jason Roberts Foundation, the scholarship programme is open to an outstanding applicant holding an offer for any of UCFB postgraduate programmes held at our Wembley campus. Candidates should have an interest in football, have the ability to lead, possess experience with outreach work within a community and should be able to demonstrate that they have strived through adversity to achieve a goal.

The recruitment process will address the diversity criteria, ensuring that a range of candidates from socially diverse backgrounds, as well as from groups with other protected characteristics, apply for the programme.

The scholarship students will benefit from a partnership between UCFB and Jason Roberts Foundation. Recipients of the scholarship will be expected to not only commit themselves to an academically rigorous programme of study but also become involved in some of the activities and programmes carried out by the Jason Roberts Foundation.

Scholarship Value: FT: £1,500 (£1,000 tuition fees + £500 towards sports industry events and costs associated with involvement in projects with Jason Roberts Foundation.

PT: £1,500 (the tuition fee value of the scholarship will be divided into two years of study).

Alumni Scholarships

UCFB is committed to maximising the employability of its graduates within the exciting football and sports industry. To demonstrate this commitment, UCFB is offering scholarship opportunities to alumni of UCFB and its partners.

Posgraduate Loyalty Discount

This scholarship is open to any UCFB or Buckinghamshire New University graduate who has received and accepted an offer to study at postgraduate level with UCFB.

Award value: 25% reduction in tuition fees on all GIS Master’s degrees, excluding the MSc Sports Directorship.

FirstPoint USA Alumni Scholarship

Tuition fee scholarships are available to FirstPoint USA alumni for 2020 entry. Once a FirstPoint USA scholar has completed their programme in the USA, they are entitled to apply for a UCFB scholarship.

How to apply

GIS scholarships are highly limited and competitive with far more applicants than available awards. When applying for a scholarship, you must be a current GIS applicant, holding a firmly accepted offer on a 180 credit master’s programme at GIS for September 2020.

We are pleased to announce that with the launch of the newest GIS scholarship, the Jason Roberts Foundation Scholarship, we have extended the deadline to apply for all GIS scholarships.

You have until 6th September 2020 to complete your application to be considered for any of our GIS scholarships.
