A UCFB graduate has been speaking about his journey from studying at UCFB to working for a Women’s Super League club, and how Clearing helped him get to where he is.
Sam Wraight, who studied BA (Hons) Multimedia Sports Journalism, now works as a media executive at London City Lionesses.
He has been speaking to us about how the summertime Clearing process helped him achieve his thriving sports industry career.
Speaking about the Clearing process, Sam said: “It was actually a lot easier than I thought. I wasn’t sure exactly what I wanted to do.
“I had one quick phone call. They explained everything on the phone, and the next thing, I was walking to Wembley for my first lecture.”
It was during Sam’s third year at UCFB Wembley when he walked through the doors at Hayes Lane, firstly as operations assistant and media assistant, before going full-time at the WSL club after graduating.
“I’m so glad I made that call to UCFB and gave it a try when, like I say, I didn’t think university was right for me, because now I’m at London City.
“There’s a lot of people I’ve met and a lot of work that I’ve done along the way which means that I probably wouldn’t be here if I hadn’t have made that phone call.”
Do you want to take the first step towards your dream career in sport? Apply to UCFB through Clearing, open now, and start as early as this September.
